Pup Mobile started in March 2024 in St. Petersburg with one idea: pets should get to come along.

Dirk Johnson is a Desert Storm combat veteran, a USA Pickleball certified coach and a Tierra Verde local. In March 2024 he started Pup Mobile in St. Petersburg around a simple idea: pets should get to come along.

So he built a van for it. A 2024 Ford Transit 350 HD fitted with stainless-steel kennels, climate control, an 800Ah lithium solar system and shore power, so the cabin stays cool at a July festival with the engine off.

The van solves a quieter problem too. Plenty of owners, especially seniors, can’t easily drive a pet to the vet or the groomer. Pup Mobile picks them up at the door, gets them to the appointment and brings them home.

Pup Mobile is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business. It’s fully insured, based in St. Petersburg and serves the whole of Tampa Bay.
